About the Role

Healthy Love Youth Advocates (HLYA) is a grassroots network of youth, ages 16-25, throughout the State of Georgia willing to take action to support young people’s rights to comprehensive reproductive sexual health information and services. Through online media, face-to-face meetings, and intensive trainings, SisterLove provides these young people with information and builds their skills on issues such as reproductive and sexual health, advocacy, media outreach, and youth organizing, among other topics, in order to create an active and mobilized network of young activists willing to conduct cultural and political advocacy. Under the supervision of the Policy and Advocacy Program Manager, the Youth Engagement Coordinator will assist in efforts to expand, engage, and mobilize SisterLove’s Healthy Love Youth Advocates and will support and implement programming for SisterLove’s youth-based initiatives, such as HLYASS (Health Love Youth Advocates Statewide Summit) and PrEPFlix & Chill.

Requirements

Three Major Areas of Responsibility:

Preferred Partnership:

  • Develops and manages detailed project schedule, timeline, and work plan for all partners of PREFERRED including: joint activities, community engagement/outreach, collective assessments, programming and evaluations and branding/public relations (PR).


  • Uses project management software to track overall project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.


  • Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.



2020 Leading Women’s Society Institute:

  • Supports the Source Leadership Team to develop and identify opportunities to grow the skills and expertise of Women living with HIV and their peers.


  • Supports the Source Leadership Team to create effective channels of communication between LWS members.


  • Supports the Source Leadership with the Management of society partnerships by maintaining calendars, communicating key dates, visiting with members via zoom for check-ins, and managing the feedback and evaluation processes.


  • Supports society members engages in their successes and in their current projects and continue to develop professionally, including planning and facilitation group check-ins.


Healthy Love Youth Advocates Network (HLYASS, PrEPFlix and Chill):

  • Coordinates the Healthy Love Youth Advocates (HLYA) by recruiting, supervising and supporting youth members.


  • Assists Healthy Love Youth Advocates in implementing individual campaign plans and launching local advocacy campaigns, including rapid response actions.


  • Oversees the marketing and coordination of annual campaigns.


  • Conducts monthly youth engagement activities, support groups, etc.


  • Designs and tests digital organizing strategies to move Healthy Love Youth Advocates (HLYA) members up a ladder of engagement.


  • Leads the planning logistics of SisterLove’s Annual Statewide Youth Summit.


  • Draft materials including training modules and webinars for youth activists, advocacy toolkits, talking points, and action alerts.


  • Track assigned project progress and performance, specifically to ensure the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
