Damaris Henderson

Coordinator of Outreach

Damaris began her journey with SisterLove, Inc. almost ten years ago as a Project Recruiter for the HIV Prevention Trials Network Study HPTN 064 ISIS Project--a women's HIV SeroIncidence clinical study and collaborative project with Emory’s Hope Clinic. Currently, she is the Coordinator of Outreach for SLI. Uncompromising for meeting the community where they are, Damaris is well known for engaging at-risk communities where she provides education and arranges for testing opportunities. She serves as facilitator of SLI’s Defuse Evidenced Base Intervention entitled Healthy Love Party Workshop where she fuses grassroots and creativity into HIV/STI education and sexuality.
Damaris connects the community to research by serving as co-chair of Emory’s Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) Community Liaison Council and serves as the organizational liaison to the WIHS Study (Women’s Interagency HIV Study) --a biomedical long-term women’s focused clinical study linked to Emory’s Research Department.
